Harlem9 closed our 1st National Summer at home in Harlem with the 9th Annual 48Hours in...™Harlem, in a new location, The National Dance Institute Center for Learning & the Arts.
6 playwrights re-imagined six works by the late Ntozake Shange: A Photograph: Lovers in Motion, Black & White Two-Dimensional Planes, boogie woogie landscapes, For Colored Girls who have Considered Suicide when the Rainbow is Enuf, Sassafrass, Cypress & Indigo and Spell #7. Over a 48-hour period, the plays were cast, rehearsed, and produced as an evening of shorts, culminating in two performances, 7pm and 9:30pm on Sunday, August 25th.
